TDP founder and former chief minister NT Ramarao's 16th death anniversary is being observed at NTR Ghat on Wednesday, January 18th. Balakrishna paid floral tributes and hailed his father, who has done a great service to the people of the state.
When media quizzed Balakrishna whether he is the political successor to his father, the actor replied,"I'm not NTR's political successor. But, I would work in the direction of achieving his goals".
Balakrishna clarified that he would contest from the Assembly seat and party would decide the constituency.
"" he said.I have not decided anything yet on which constituency I should represent. People of all the regions are dear to me. I'm ready to contest from any where in the state,
Balayya stated that he would never invite his sister Daggubati Purandeswari to join the Telugu Desam Party. "We would never invite her. If Purandeswari wants to join our party, then she most welcomed," he said.
Reacting to the reports of NTR staying away from party activities, Balakrsihna said,"That's purely their wish. This party is not here to roll out red carpet for anyone. Everyone should work like an ordinary party worker. Even, I'm working as a party activist".
When Media questioned Balayya whether NTR would campaign for party during the time of elections, the actor replied,"He may or may not campaign".
Reacting to erstwhile PRP chief Chiranjeevi comments on him, Balakrishna said,"I would not mind the comments made by Chiranjeevi. He learnt politics very well. That's why, he is lobbying for cabinet berths in Delhi"
